Chris Yeargin - President, Treasurer

Chris grew up in Angel Fire, NM and moved to Durango in 2014. After 10 years in the civil engineering field, Chris decided to bring his business and finance experience to the non-profit world by working with a series of education-based organizations. Chris' non-profit board experience includes work with Mountain Middle School and Durango Nature Studies. He also served on the board for a preschool and was a part of the founding team for an elementary school in Seattle, Washington.

Chris attended the University of New Mexico and earned his Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. He is currently studying contemporary guitar with the Berklee Online School of Music and spends his free time skiing, hiking and riding dirtbikes - usually trying desperately to keep up with his two sons, Ethan and Sam.


Jeff Munger - Vice President

Jeff Munger is a radio personality and musician manager who began in radio at WBCN in Boston where he co-produced the station’s highly rated drive time radio show as well as working as a promotions assistant. Jeff later had his own radio show in Park City, UT and since 2007 has had a radio show KDUR, Fort Lewis College’s local station. Through his company JTM Music he manages the Garrett Lebeau Band from Austin, TX and is also the executive producer of the new CTA record featuring Danny Seraphine, former drummer and co-founding member of the band Chicago. Jeff is also managing partner at Alternate Root Magazine, a roots music publication dedicated to providing a platform for independent artists to have their music heard.



Lissa Howe - Director

Lissa Howe grew up in Durango, has a bachelor’s in biology and a master’s in geography and ecology from Colorado College and University of Wyoming. She has experience in science education as the curriculum developer for a nonprofit focused on water resources education and as a classroom teacher. She currently manages the A Bar A Ranch in southern Wyoming with her husband, Justin. Their daughters Christine and Kenna are active in the Stillwater music program. Lissa’s interests include being outdoors, riding horses, reading, yoga, and listening to live music!



Peter Arcomano - Director

Peter has extensive experience as a management consultant working with all sizes and types of organizations in the Rocky Mountain region and the Pacific Northwest. His expertise includes group facilitation, organizational development, team building, leadership training and strategic planning.




Laura Wenger - Director

Laura is originally from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she developed a passion for music early on as a child while sitting underneath the grand piano while her father played anything from classical to contemporary music. She earned her bachelors degree from the University of Florida in TV & Film Production in 2006 and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Utah in 2013, with many adventures in Colorado, Washington state, and Utah in between. Laura has lived in Durango since 2014 with her husband, Patrick, and young son, Silas, and is a physical therapist at Tomsic Physical Therapy, where she teaches people how to move better and with less pain on a daily basis. She is excited for the opportunities her young son will have growing up in Durango and looks forward to him joining Stillwater groups as he gets older. Laura continues to play the piano and guitar at home whenever she gets the opportunity and when she is not outside enjoying the outdoor adventures that southwest Colorado has to offer. 

Tony & Terri Gasaway - Founders

Tony and his wife, Terri, founded the Stillwater Foundation in December, 2005 with the intent of providing needed after-school services and activities for children in the Durango area. Tony is an attorney specializing in corporate tax law and litigation and Terri Gasaway has a professional background in marketing for large corporations. Tony was Chairman of the Board and Terri served as Stillwater's Executive Director since its beginning in 2005 through the end of 2014. They are both passionate about the success of the organization and about the services it provides in the La Plata County community.
